Love Quilts To Make
a Child Smile - A wonderful site that makes quilts from counted
cross stitch squares from people like you and me who sign up to
stitch a square for a critically ill child that has been featured
on the Make a Child Smile
site. The Make a Child Smile organization features several critically
ill children for each month of the year that you can send cards
or gifts to. It really brightens up the day for these parents and
children to know that so many people care about them!
Some Facts about Love Quilts: Visit
this page to see the list
of children's quilts that were made
for each year and a link to the child and

Visit the
"Free Pattern" and the "More
Free Patterns" page of Treasured
Tapestries' site to choose a pattern for stitching a Love Quilts
square or for your personal use. All free patterns are offered as a
zip or a pdf file to be downloaded and printed in either
Patternmaker Viewer or Adobe Acrobat Reader.
You may also wish to stitch the free design, "Nicky's Angel"
that was designed especially for The
Angel Quilt Project. If you enjoy stitching for Love Quilts,
maybe you would also like to stitch for this worthwhile cause,
too.
I will keep the Love Quilts' themes in mind when working
on free patterns. I have noticed themes requested for trucks,
construction equipment, emergency vehicles, kitties, and so on.
Therefore, these themes will be among the first new designs added.
Three dog patterns have recently been added.
Four variations
of a Heart & Cross Border were originally designed for the
Memorial Quilt for "Angel" Andrew's quilt. These borders make a
lovely addition to any Love Quilts square. The Border is
approximately 9 inches x 9 inches and allows room for your stitched
design in the middle.
Themes in regards to "Precious
Moments," Winnie-the-Pooh," and others that are copyrighted will
have to be found in local or online needlework
shops.
Remember that all Love Quilt squares are to be stitched on 11, 14,
16, or 18 count White Aida only. You may print details on the inside
and outside dimensions for your Love Quilts' square on the Love
Quilts' site, along with other directions.
PLEASE do not use beads, charms, buttons, or
attach any small items to the design so we can prevent a choking
hazard for the child. Beads are easily replaced with French Knots in
the same color as the bead.
Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile and Treasured
Tapestries thanks you for your time and love put into these counted
cross stitch squares. They mean so much to the child and their
family.
