Supplies Needed:
Coordinating felt
Fusible Webbing (Wonder Under works well)
10" length of 1/4 or 1/2 inch ribbon
Water soluble sewing marker
Instructions:
After cross stitching is complete, carefully measure and cut linen/aida 1 inch from all edges of design.

You may choose to cut 1 inch around the shape of the design, following curves. Or, you may want to cut around design in a rectangle, circle, oval, or round shape.

Overcast edges of linen/aida.

Place design, face down, on a towel and iron linen/aida under 1/2 inch towards back of design, following around all edges. Make small snips on curved edges so they will lay flat.

Trace shape of design onto a coordinating piece of felt, using a water soluble sewing marker. Repeat with fusible webbing. Cut traced shapes out.

On ironing board, lay stitched design face down on a soft towel. Next, place fusible webbing, paper side up, on the wrong side of stitched design. Line up edges.

Following the directions that came with the fusible webbing, iron fusible webbing to the wrong side of stitched design.

Let cool, then peel paper backing from fusible webbing.

Cut a 10-inch length of ribbon to use as a hanger. Lay stitched design, face down, on towel on ironing board. Place ribbon ends 1 inch inside top edge of design. Then, place the felt cut-out on top.

Holding ribbon in place, and following directions that come with fusible webbing, iron felt backing and design together. Ribbon will be fused between the two.

Your felt-backed ornament is now done.
